About

This blog is created as a forum to share my journey to Kenya. I am a 36yr. old mother of two, Ben-19 and Grace-12, and a midwife currently practicing at CentreVida Birth Center in Austin. My goal and prayer is that I will find new understandings and healing as I fulfill a dream of serving in Africa.

    Greetings Faith,

It has been a journey of connections and paths to arrive at this moment for me. The story begins months ago when my beloved, Mwaura, and I decided we would return to his homeland (Kenya) for visit, (my second trip).

My heart immediately began to sing as I knew that I wanted to come early and offer midwifery services in some capacity. As I began to explore various options and possibilities in East Africa the path unfold more and more. So many opportunities to share, offer and receive in the world. The path eventually led to your blog , then to your time at FreMo, with Vicki and Natarsha.

So I find myself on this beautiful sunny morning in Iowa, (USA); reaching out to you to see if I might be helpful in any way to carry on some of the work that has begun.

I so respect the great visions and efforts that have joined together to create FreMo and would want to make sure that what I would have to offer in the way of service would be supportive and in alignment with this beautiful beginning.

I have included my website info, as a way of getting a feel for how I serve women and there families as a midwife.

I plan to arrive in Kenya early this December. I would be available to serve until late January. Mwuara, will arrive in late January and we will be staying on until late February, visiting family and friends and traveling. We will be spending some of the time in February in Nairobi, so I would still be available some of the time:)

Thanks so much for the love beauty and gifts of care and serve you are offering the women, families and the whole community. I look forward to exploring possibilities and options.

    Smiles and peace,
    brenda
